This squirrels antics really made me smile as he tucked into the berries during my walk on Sunday.
He really was enjoying his lunch in the early winter sunshine.
If this isn't contentment I don't know what is.
I saw loads more in the woods between Marbury Lane and the path that runs around Neumanns Flash.
This fella wasn't bothered as I clicked away... far to busy eating.
There were a few Jays hanging around so I sat on a felled tree to try and capture a decent shot of one.
My presence must have spooked them as these were the only half decent bird images I managed.
The Robin stayed close by the whole time I was there.
As did about half a dozen of these little posers.
Feeding away without a care in the world... I wonder how they've fared with all the rain of the past few days.

Jay's doesn't like us humans, and who can blame them. Precious photos.
The first one could be a Christmas card. So cute!
Squirrels are cute. Beautiful shots.
I really like the shot of the squirrel looking right at you.
Snap Andrew! I too have robins today. The squirrel shots would make beautiful Christmas card with those festive red berries.
Such wonderful photos! I love the beautiful squirrel with the red berries and agree with Arija that it would make a wonderfully festive Christmas card. I adore the second photo of the squirrel with his eyes closed... you can almost hear him saying, "nom, nom, nom" as he munches those yummy berries. So sweet!
I love your robins, so different from ours! They're adorable. I think the critters enjoy posing for your photos, they probably sense they have a friend and ally in you. :-)
Great pics Andrew, have really mixed feelings about Grey Squirrels, they are really cute and loveable, but they also do the Reds no good at all, and they are pain wrecking my bird feeders!
Amazing pictures Andrew!
Regards,
Willy
Squirrels so cheeky and such acrobats, even when they are stealing from my bird feeders I prefer to watch them rather than chase them away. Thanks for sharing. Love the little robin too.
Hope this means your knee is better.
Squirrels are so fun to watch...and your robins are so different to ours. Just so pretty.
Those squirrels look very content, soon it shall become harsh for them. The Robin images and your new header are wonderful~
