My favourite garden bird............................................................ the Goldfinch

Goldfinches are by far the most colourful birds I see in my garden.
I had just topped up (what was left of) my feeders after the squirrels had emptied and done their best to destroy them while I was away over the weekend.

Sunflower Hearts are a favourite with most of my garden visitors... not least the Goldfinchs and it wasn't long before this little bird was tucking in.

They drop quite a bit while feeding... much to the delight of the pigeons and my little garden mouse.

I too love goldfinches but have only had one visit from them a few winters ago. One can hope however.

He'd be most welcome at my feeders! Same color palette as the Western Tanagers I see, but so differently arranged by Ma Nature.

Hi there - great pictures of a great bird.

They have been introduced here - I tend to see them on old buliding sites and such places where the thistles grow.

Oh he is so beautiful -- so much more colorful than the goldfinches we have (and I love them) but yours has them beat. Wow I'd love to see that bird in "person"
