Magpies.................................................................... in and around my garden

I heard a bit of a commotion in the garden last night... Magpies were on the search for a meal.

It started off on the roof tops

They then split up.
One landed on my fence... and was having a good look around.

I have always struggled to get close to Magpies.

All of these images were taken through my windows.

Great photos. Your magpies are rather different from the ones out here in Australia but they sound equally noisy and curious.

Magpies are one of my favorites just because of the black and white.

Great pictures you show of the damage. Damages "runs" also on our roof and looking for food. Wishing you a good Wednesday. Hanne Bente / hbt.finus.dk

Brilliant images of the Magpie.

Hi there - nice pictures. We have black and white birds here called Magpies - but they are a large butcher bird, rather than a crow.

Nice to see the "original" magpie again.

Well, this tie you got some good shots of them . I always find B&W birds hard to capture well and with European Magpies, it is even harder with those iridescent feathers on their backs. Well done!

WOW! What a fine job you did shooting through the window. I do a good bit of that, too. I have never seen a magpie. The third shot looks like it is time for a little rest. genie

Magpies must be one of my favorite birds when visiting my family in Germany. I love watching their antics. Nice shots, Drew!
