A bit of a hold up on my journey home.............................................................

I got stuck behind this lovely old steam driven engine on my way home from work this lunchtime.
I take the scenic route and the lanes are narrow.

I manged to get past... then pulled over to take a few pictures as it passed me again.

It's not something you see every day........... although steam rally's are popular in the UK.

It's the Cheshire Show next week which takes place just a couple of miles from these images.
I guess that's were this old girl was heading.

Wow, what a beauty. Like Sandra said, the sound would be lovely to be witness to.

So where and how would this engine have been used?

A fine 'old girl' built to last, when engineering WAS engineering!
Great images Andrew...[;o)

Looks like Fred Dibnah driving! It`s great to see these old machines being kept so well by the enthusiasts, they will probably out-last the new machines we have today!

Beautiful Andrew. You were lucky, what you saw.

Oh, how splendid. Love the old railway car trailer/caravan.
I well remember the huge steam threshing machine that made the rounds of the farms in my childhood.
