I relaxed in the garden after work doing nothing but listening to and watching the birds.
All around my garden they were singing and coo cooing from the roof tops.
Woodpigeon.
Woodie is joined by my garden Song Thrush... bottom left.
This little darling has her nest built and is looking for love.
The magpies are always checking out the rooftops.
Sigh!!... when will I find my knight in shining armour?
Even my little Robin has a rooftop lookout point.
Keep singing sweetheart... at least your making Andrew smile.
OK not the best images ever taken but from where I was sitting they all looked fantastic.

Great home shots Andrew. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

I hope your little darling finds a mate! Keep smiling Drew.
I love these photos, not to mention your commentary. The little robin--in the previous post, too, is such a charmer, but they all have their appeal. We, too, sat out tonight, feet up (and me with binoculars to check the status of nesting in the birdboxes down the hill), just listening to the birdsong all around us. Not close enough for photos, but music to our ears.
Drew, Your roof is a birding Hot Spot!:)
What a delightful post for the day, Andrew! I love your dialog with those lovely birds and what beautiful skies for a backdrop! I love it! Hope you and the birds have a great weekend!
They sure like your roof! The thrush is a beautiful little bird and the magpie is very striking! Love the black and white plumage!
They're wonderful!
PS Ms Thrush.. You go girl!
Wonderful photography and narrative!
The melodies of the Song Thrush is amazing, but, is it a him/her makes the music, the song that bring love. Great photos as well.
Very beautiful! So many visitors in your garden ... great!
Greetings.
your beauiful birds, i enjoyed them all
much love...
They are absolutely perfect! What a chorus!
i love to sit in my swing beside the pool and listen to the cooing of the doves. the early morning coos are the best.... makes me so happy just as your garden full of birds makes you happy
What a wonderfully relaxing sit among all your personal friends and tenants. I do hope the new nest will soon be put to good use and you will have a whole thrush barbershop quartet if not sextet serenading you.
We don't always have to have the perfect shots Drew, sometimes, just seeing what you are seeing is spectacular enough.

Nice shots of your rooftop home to cute little birds!! What a delight!
I know how that little bird feels:))
I love the focal point of that second shot.
My Sky Shot, please come and see. Have a great weekend.
Aww. They are lovely birds bringing joy with their melodies! Just a heads up: it is ideal to annually inspect your roof to make sure that they are free from debris. Checking up on your gutters could also help to prevent them from clogging, leaking, and damaging your roof.

It must be so thrilling to see all these birds in your garden. They look pretty perching on your rooftop. It is highly advisable to take extra caution when it comes to your roof, as bird droppings are very acidic in nature. Droppings, which accumulate on roofs, will penetrate into the material and eventually cause leaks. The life expectancy of roofs can be cut in half by just a light, but continuous exposure to bird droppings. ;)
I agree with Chantay. Bird droppings don’t just make your roof look old and dirty, but it’s also one of the main reasons why your gutters get clogged. Bird droppings and leaves can block the gutter’s draining system, so it’s important that you regularly clean your roof so that you can retain its good look and you can be sure that it’s clear of debris.
I’ve never seen a roof that became a resting point of different species of birds until this! That tree right there near your roof must be the reason behind this; the birds seem so attracted to the seeds, which are expelled by those blooming flowers. However, be sure to regularly inspect the roof, as birds and other animals may unintentionally cause damage to the roofing system.
Hmm. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a roof with some birds and eventually a bird’s nest on it. Lol! =) I believe birds always find roofs a calming place to settle in, and they are the perfect place for them to look for food for their whole breed.
