Nice timing........... a Goldcrest in the garden during my Big Garden Birdwatch

This weekend it's been the RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch...
...they claim it's the worlds largest wildlife survey.
You spend one hour noting the number of birds and different species that visit your garden.
During my hour earlier to day I had 10 species visit my feeders.. the last one was a bit special.

Goldcrest (Regulus regulus)

The smallest British bird weighing around 6.5gm.

All the images were taken through my kitchen window... and it was raining.

It's only the second one I've seen in the garden in over 10 years

A great little bird to end my bird count with.

Lovely birds, with that black line on the face giving them a bit of a sour appearance!

What a precious bird and to think you have only seen two in ten years. I am so glad you did not miss this one. It is so sweet with that little yellow tuft on top of its head. I love the series.

Cute bird, it looks very similar to our Golden-crowned Kinglet. Great photos. Happy February, enjoy your new week!

Excellent timing. Maybe it was going from garden to garden to see how many ticks it could achieve in one hour.

Amazing picture of a cute little bird. I love the wintery touch to the bush.

If that bird would show up anywhere during the count it would be in your garden of course!!!

Good job you were looking out of the kitchen window at the right time.
