I have a couple of days off work......................... today we visited Chirk Castle

I have taken a couple of days holiday this week mainly so I can visit the Cheshire Show on Tuesday.
Our county show attracts around 80,000 visitors over two days... and I've never been.
It's only about 5 miles from where I live... about time I made the effort.

Today we made the most of the lovely weather and visited Chirk Castle... Mandy had never been before.

Chirk Castle was completed in 1310.

Chirk Castle.

The gardens were added a couple of hundred years ago...

...and are so lovely to wander around with lot's of hidden corners.

I haven't been home for long so this post is a bit rushed...  I will spend more time over tomorrows images.
Now where did I put that key?

Such a beautiful place and lovely gardens!! Having been raised in such a comparatively young country, I'm fascinated by the castles!! Superb captures, Andrew as always! Thanks for sharing a fun day!! Have a great week!

It is so impressive the massive structures they could build so very long ago.

Hi Andrew now that looks a great place to visit and I wonder you didn't go sooner as it is so close to you. I hope you have more shots of the castle and gardens to show us as we will probably not have the opportunity to visit it for ourselves.

Looks like an interesting place to visit Andrew?
I guess that you weren't brave enough to take the rotten eggs and fruit to make that last picture look more convincing?...[;o)
