A walk to Castle Crag.........................................................................................

It's been a couple of weeks since our long weekend break in the Lake District.

I took Mandy to Castle Crag in Borrowdale to visit the cave Millican Dalton spent his summers during the 1920's through to the 1940's.
I have shared his story before the link is here: Millican Dalton

On our way back from the cave this sheep appeared and started to follow us.

Bleating away it seemed to be making sure we left his little patch of Castle Crag.

If we stopped the sheep stopped... it became a bit of a game of cat and mouse.

As we reached the path following the River Derwent...the sheep jumped over a stone wall to make sure we really were on our way... a fun end to our walk.

Mandy's Dad is scheduled for his triple bypass op tomorrow morning...
...he was in good spirits when we saw him today.
Mum is enjoying being back at home after her fall and has now has a panic button around her neck...
...83 on the 10th of March she took some convincing she was old enough to wear one!

Dear Andrew,
I enjoyed this post. The Lake District is very special to our family and my father's ashes are buried up there and photos of the region bring back very pleasant memories.

Your recent walks in the Lake District took me back to when, decades ago, when I spent a lot of time wandering and photographing the hills and valleys that my parents had wandered before me. It's been good to see them as well, of course, as more of your excellent wildlife shots. I've never managed a Sparrowhawk.

Good luck with the heart job. He should be as good as new in a month or two.

Terrific pictures. Glad you didn't get rammed by this ram (or ewe?).

Wishing your family success at the hospital tomorrow. Shalom to you.

Thinking good thoughts for your mom and Mandy's dad. (I will have to be convinced to wear that button too...probably any day now...I'm only a decade younger than she is.)

Funny sheep protecting his territory.

Glad your mom is back home...amazing that she has to be convinced to have a panic buttong. Hope all goes well with Mandy's dad.

Beautiful country! I had to laugh at the sheep! That's funny!

What fun. We have mountain goats up in our hills, and this time of year they come down closer to lake level due to the snow in the higher country. Spring is a good time to catch sight of them, but they never get close enough for good pictures with my little camera. - Margy
