Sundays visit to Arley Hall and Gardens...........................................................

It's been a couple of years since my last visit to one of my local stately homes... Arley Hall.

It was a lovely sunny morning... but the forecast was to expect heavy showers.

The old Cruck Barn near the entrance dates from around 1470.

We made the most of the sunshine... the gardens are stunning at this time of year.

...the summer flower borders are so colourful...

... and full of butterflies like this lovely Small Tortoiseshell.
The rain did arrive... but luckily just as we got back to the car.

That butterfly looks really good in the big yellow flower.

What a lovely place, beautiful flowers/gardens! Glad the good weather held long enough for you to enjoy! The butterfly is delightful! Terrific captures for the day, Andrew! Wonderful old barn, too! Have a great week!

Wow - 1470! The oldest barns in our part of the world aren't even 150 years old.. and those have mostly all fallen in.
Looks like a beautiful place, and I'm smitten with that fine-fringed yellow flower & butterfly!
