A nightmare of a journey home from work.......................................................

It's snowed a bit again this afternoon... we can't cope with snow, rain or even a bit of a drought in the UK.

It took me just over two and a half hours to drive home tonight... the journey is 25 miles door to door.

Crawling along with sleet coming down I expected to see a nasty car accident had caused all the queuing.

I had plenty of time to take a few pics of the traffic in front of me even this little video clip.
It will probably get removed because of it's music content.

A pic of the traffic behind in my door mirror... can you tell I was getting bored...
... and to make things worse after an hour I was also dying to go to the loo.

The reason for the holdup was revealed as I turned a steep bend in the road (an accident black spot).
No mangled cars or ambulances in sight... just a set of temporary traffic lights at a junction of three roads...
... and a few bollards narrowing the road with no sign of any roadworks.

I'm off to bed!!!

oh, that's very frustrating! 25 miles in 2 1/2 hours is pretty dreadful. i've done about 45 miles in that time span back in the day of commuting into dallas...

i laughed at your line, though: we can't cope with snow, rain or even a bit of a drought in the UK.

Whoops, it snowed again. Your video was good, and true.

Don't feel too bad...there are lots of places here in the US that can't handle a little snow, either. That's a long time just to get 25 miles. I'm sure it was frustrating.

My gosh Andrew, I've missed a lot on your blog. Lovely, lovely photos. Nothing worse than bad traffic for no good reason.

You poor thing! I commiserate with the longing for a loo. I wonder what obstacles would be put in your way if you got a foot of snow in 10 hours?
When we lived in Vermont, we had 60" in a week, now that was a challenge!

Looks familiar... Nice to hear Brian Ferry. Ah come on, easier for you to go to the loo than it is for ladies. It took me 5 hours in the snow to drive back home in 2010 (for 18.6 kilometres) and gents were getting out of their cars everywhere to relieve their bladders. We women had to wait... :-)

Don't you just love how a bit of unusual weather brings this country to its knees lol

you did what i did, snapped away. i did not remove the video, but i did only watch 18 seconds due to the music content. OUCH on my ears... mine would have been blasting country music which would probably hurt your ears. glad you got home safe
