Sundays visitors to my garden........................................................................

It's not been a good day for walking with my camera... plenty of rain between the odd sunny spell.
I did manage to capture some the birds that visit my little garden.

Blue Tits are always lovely little birds to see.

This Great Tit gives me my morning wake up call... he likes to sing so early...
...an hour or more before my alarm goes off :-( Yawn!!

At least the rain is keeping the bird bath filled.

This little Coal Tit is in and out in a flash... so hard to get a decent image of.
The damage on the feeder is the work of a squirrel... he has prized the arms right off a bit further up.

I always leave little piles of seed for the ground feeders like this Blackbird.

Amazing!!.. the little sod is sorting through the seed and helping himself to the best bits.

It doesn't stop him destroying the feeders though.
As soon this lot was polished off he was climbing up after the peanuts.

I managed to get a few video clips which I hope to share as soon as I edit them together.
I've got all afternoon... it's just started to pour down outside.

Two posts today... please scroll up to view the second one.

here where we live we have been in a drought for about 4 years, not nearly enough rain, fire warnings daily. Saturday night we got 30 minutes of hard rain at midnight and last night an hour of pouring rain. we are so thankful for it. these little birds are so sweet and cute and you got excellent photos of the black birds, they are hard for me to capture and make the feathers show in details. squirrels are really pest for sure.

Nice garden birds Andrew. Looks like time to invest in squirrel proof feeders.

Sorry to tell you this Andrew, but it's been lovely and sunny here lol

Great group of garden visitors, apart from the squirrel.

Lovely snaps. We have only one place where we can hang a feeder (dangling way from an oak tree limb) that has managed to defeat the squirrels. They still try, but without success. Plenty on the ground, though, just as you show here!

Sorry your Tits ;D wake you up so early... OK, I better stop right here!!

As for the little sod who seems to be tearing up the feeders and eating all the good seed...good luck trying to get rid of him!

Hi Andrew...Nice back yard friends and they always make great subjects ; } although the Gray Squirrels always get me a little flustrated!!!
Rain here today, but first time in weeks, we are very dry with a lot of forest fires, but they are thankfully been caught quickly!!

Glad to see squirrels are pretty much the same everywhere! I find your blackbirds quite striking. Not sure why unless it's the yellow around the eyes. The Tits, of course, are beautiful birds.

It's a good job we've got our faithful garden visitors to keep us amused during the wet days Andrew! Even the Squirrels..ha ha...[;o)

A sod, eh? ;-) Poor little mite... Lovely shots as always!

That is why the squirrels and chipmunks in our gardens are so fat and the birds so hungry!

Your blackbirds are much more attractive than the ones we have in the U.S. -- my opinion. :)

Thank you for sharing at Your Sunday Best Andrew! xoxo

Most of our feeders are metal now. Which means the squirrels and raaccoonns are wrecking more expensive feeders.... sheesh.

PS. I can never remember how to spell rraaccoonnsss.. or vvaauucccummm

I was enjoying comparing the difference between the blue tit, and the great tit, and then the coal tit...which is very much like our carolina chickadee..they are quick!!
Love that eye ring on the blackbird. We had a cold rainy day today and now its bedtime and pouring down..

Our son-in-law, in Oregon, has better luck scattering seed on the ground than he does with the feeders -- they get amazing birds; I hope I get some pictures this summer.

Especially love your little blue bird pictures. Such a sweet little bird, and these are great shots!

The little birds are always so quick, you were so lucky to get such fantastic shots, what a shame the squirrels are such a nuisance, they look so darn cute with their big bushy tails! The main worry for the birds in my garden are hawks, they swoop amazingly fast. I adore your bird images Andrew, brilliant!
