Robins................................................................. Shakerley Mere in Cheshire

My visit to Shakerley Mere on Saturday produce loads of images... I have already shared some of the birds I saw.... Blue, Coal and Long-tailed Tits and Nuthatches.
(scroll down to see the two posts after my "One Way" post below to view them)

One species was always present during my visit... the Robin.

European Robin (Erithacus rubecula)..

They were posing on all the perches available..
Fence posts.

The barrier at the car park.

A sculptured bench carved from a fallen tree.

....this little fella joined him on the bench.

and even at my feet.
I have to apologize to the Robins... my favourite little bird on this occasion...

...had to be the Long-tailed Tits.

Beautiful little birds to watch.... scroll down three posts.
It was pleasant afternoon.... roll on next weekend.

Beautiful little birds today. Really love the European Robin. The Long tailed Tits are one of my favorite even though we don't have them here in Canada.

Really like your robins but I believe the Long tailed Tit is the winner here.

The European robin is much different than the American Robin. I think yours is cuter but perhaps I am just too familiar with the American version.

Oh, these robins are so very pretty! Very different looking from the robins in the United States. The Long-tailed Tits are beautiful! I have never seen one of these before. Look at that tail! This series of photographs is fantastic! A pleasure to view!

The Robins are beautiful! Just like in my picture books when I was very young! Back then most books for children came from the UK. Great photos.

excellent set Andrew. I think the Robin is so overlooked as a UK Bird. When i was photographing some over the weekend i had 2 people say to be what is the point of taking photos of them they are as common ma muck. what do they know huh !!!!#Shaun

They are definitely a brighter species than our robins and lovely little birds!
It's time to start seeing my robins return to the backyard. By this time last year they were back.
Still love the coconut idea. :)

Andrew...your Robins are prettier than my Robins.

Happy Valentine's Day. Wish you were here. hehehe

Your Robins are so cute and so different than those here in North America, come to think of it the Robins here don't usually take the time to pose either. The Tits are lovely, ours are quite drab by comparison, but still fun to watch.

Hi there - what a splendid set of pictures.

It's these birds that I miss - the once I used to see everyday - walking to work, on the bus, in the backyard.

Cheers - Stewart M - Australia
