Porthmadog North Wales........................... more images of a lovely visit

I really had a great week off work last week....I hope you don't mind me sharing a few more images.
My trip to Porthmadog and the Ffestiniog Railway was a real highlight.

The signals at Tan-y-Bwlch Station...  it was a beautiful sunny day.

It's lovely to travel First Class.

Second Class travel is also very comfortable...

...as is the Tourist Class.
There is no discomfort on these lovely little steam trains.

Departing the Harbour Station....... .over Porthmadog Cob
I ended the day with a visit to the nearby Black Rock Sands before heading home...

A beautiful end to my day.

This is my contribution to this weeks Sky Watch Friday.

Lovely shots Andrew!
Looks like you had a good time! Don`t suppose you saw Ivor The Engine did you? I think he was on the Ffestiniog, could be wrong though!

Nope, I never grow tired of you showing a glimpse of another way of life, far away, one that I shall never see for myself in real life. I bet the train/steam/smoke shot would look neat in black and white.

The last picture is such that I would like to walk there just now and feel that atmosphere.
Happy weekend to you!

Excellent post Andrew. Have you visited the Talyllyn Railway further south? Another of Wales' great little trains.

Looks like you had a great trip! I love the interior of the train, on all classes, so unlike the standard modern trains. And that beach, I would love to go for a walk there!

Hi there - great set of shots - steam is always much more fun.

We used to have a stem railway run very close to us in the Lakes - I think you may like it (and of course you may already know about it!).

Great Pictures Andrew.
Visited Porthmadog a couple of times over the years and loved it.
I remember the hard sand on the beach by the golf course where everyone drove their cars to exactly wherever they wanted to be.I wonder if that's still the case?
