Scarecrows.............. cleaning a Cheshire village?

A Saturday off work so I decided to visit to The Chestnut Centre a small wildlife park that specialises in Otters and Owls but also takes in injured and abandoned wildlife.
The round trip would be about 70 miles but I was soon distracted just a few miles from home.
Painting the phone box.
As I drove through the local villages of Plumley and Lower Peover (pronounced "peever")
I enjoyed one of those wonderful serendipity moments.....
.....a Scarecrow Festival.
There is a Best Kept Village competition and this was the theme taken up by Lower Peovers residents.

The grass was getting vacuumed.....
.....and the trees were being dusted.....

.....the village sign gets a polish.....

.....and even William and Kate made a visit

The people of Lower Peover had also opened up their gardens to the public.

These were a bit scary...the one in front was swinging to and fro.....
..... took me a moment to realise she was on a swing.
As I left the I was delighted to see a scarecrow in a field delivering an Ice Cream to a mechanic.
It was all a bit surreal but wonderful to see.

A great community effort... well done Lower Peover.
The post about the Otters will have to wait until tomorrow.

You and I will wait before the Otters, meanwhile, I fell out off my old chair chuckling at the best show that I've ever seen.
