A fantastic day...................... British Birdfair 2011

Just back from Rutland Water and the British Birdfair...
Lovely weather and the 230 mile return trip was well worth it...a plus being the light Sunday traffic.
My worries that the event would be winding down (it's a three day event) were soon dispelled as I drove into the overflow car park... It was heaving.

I am still going through my images and have cherry picked a few to give a flavour of the fair which  has become an International event.
I counted nine big Marquees... I may have missed some.

All the big optics firms had impressive stands.
Nikon, Canon plus Sony unveiling their new binoculars that take HD images of what your watching....where will it end?

This secondhand book store was very busy

Colourful tourism stands from all over the World.

Wow! who says size isn't everything.....

The Urban Birder... David Lindo ( a well known television presenter in the UK) having his photo taken with the guy from...
"Rambles with a Camera"
David is a well known magazine columnist and television presenter in the UK and we have a bit of history over an item I purchased from him on eBay.... we made up.
He has just published a book... I am now the owner of a signed copy.
A great guy... here is a link to his website:

That looks like fun, even if I am not a rabid birder. Yes, I'm with TexWisGirl. You've peaked my interest with the eBay story.

It looks a great day out. It also looks to have the makings of an expensive one.

What a hoedown! I'd love to get in that tent with those long lenses and do some daydreaming. Such a great occasion, thank you for sharing. Dave Lindo should be honored to have his picture taken with you!
