Shakerley Mere.................feeders at the entrance

Blue Tit (Parus caeruleus)

Shakerley Mere has two car parks one at each end of the lake. There is an information board and toilets plus the usual Ice Cream van at the main one. At the other side of the lake is a smaller parking area with just a few spaces but in more woodland setting and I'm sure a lot of parents park at this one to avoid the ineventable "can I have a lolly" scenario. At the woodland entrance people have put feeders onto the trees. As the birds have become accustomed to visitors it was fairly easy to capture a few close images.

Andrew that is amazing that these pictures were taken in this rather urban setting -- and that people are volunteering to keep the feeders filled. Wonderful. And parents should be so happy to get to share the birds with their kids while at the same time avoiding the ice cream temptation!

That little blue tit is absolutely charming --
